Yisela Avendao, Soap Star

The Yisela Avendao is a unique new soap from Colombia. It is unlike any other soap, you have probably seen before. In fact, when I first watched it, I was confused at first because it seemed like it was trying to be something I had never seen before. However, it turns out that Yisela Avendao is actually something completely different than what most people are used to.

First, the story. In this soap, Yisela andito, a gay couple, move into a small house in Medellin (a city near Colombia’s Caribbean coast). They quickly find that the previous owner has been murdered, their bodies have not been found, and no one will take responsibility for their bodies. Yisela andito set out to solve the crime, but they soon find themselves smack in the middle of a conspiracy that includes drug dealers and the mob.

Second, the soap. This is definitely a soap with a unique plot. Avendao, for example, is a master at playing the part of both good Copas, or straight cop, and killer. He even played a dual role for a short period in another version of the same show. This gets me started thinking that maybe Yisela Avendao is some sort of anti-cop. Or maybe he is a cop killer himself?

Finally, Yisela is played by Dexter Castillo, who also happens to be one of the best actors in the business. His accent and delivery are so different that it almost doesn’t seem like he is Spanish. While the acting isn’t as good as it could be, it’s not bad. This is especially true because this version of Yisela is one of the few fans of the character who ends up dead in the end. So this makes me wonder what happened to the other characters that were supposed to die in the show.

Overall, Yisela Avendao is a great soap. I really enjoy watching it. It’s very easy to care for and watch. It’s just like every other soap. It’s a little melodramatic at times, but I suppose that’s just part of the package. Avendao is on of those soap stars that gets me all excited about the next episode.

I recommend you take a chance and check out the first Yisela episode. You might find something you like. I know I have. And if you do, you should go out and buy the rest of the series.
